Walk-ins are accepted, however availability may be limited.
Don't have a booking? No problem! You're welcome anytime to pop in anytime to have a drink and enjoy our space. Once the axes are put away, we offer free cornhole in the lanes.
Please note: We are occassionally we are closed to the public for private events and share this on our social media pages as well as place a sign out front.

The booking process can be done entirely online. If you have any questions or difficulty, please feel free to contact us at info@woodchucksaxethrowing.ca If your first choice of date isn’t available, we’d encourage you to contact us to get on the waitlist.
+ How does payment work?
Prepayment is not required. We accept cash, debit as well as all major credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Invoicing may be available for corporate events, please email us for more information.
+ What is your cancellation policy?
We ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice ahead of your scheduled booking if you need to cancel or reschedule. If your group size increases or decreases significantly please let us know so that we can adjust your booking accordingly.
+ Is there parking?
Uptown Saint John parking rates apply, weekdays after 6PM and weekends are free. For parking information on snow bans or restrictions please visit Saint John Parking for more info.
+ What are the minimum and maximum group sizes for bookings?
The recommended group size per lane is a minimum of 2 and maximum 10, we have 4 lanes with two targets each available for online bookings. Looking to accomdate a larger booking? Please contact us.
+ What clothing and shoes should I wear?
Close toed shoes are mandatory.
No sandals or flip flops are permitted. High heels are not recommended.
A loose fitting top is recommended to allow unrestricted motion.
+ What is a typical booking like?
A typical booking lasts for 1.5 or 2.5 hours, depending on the group size and desired time. Your session will start with hands on instruction and a safety talk from one of our professional coaches. Special event bookings typically last 2.5 hours, we encourage you to contact us for special event requests.
+ Will someone show us how to throw an axe?
Yes! Our trained professional coaches will give you a brief orientation at the beginning of your event where you will be shown the proper and safe way to throw an axe. Your coach will remain nearby to ensure safety as well as provide tips and tricks throughout your booking.
+ List of Rules
- All groups participate in an axe-throwing training period to begin their booking.
- Excessive alcohol intake will not be tolerated.
- Employees reserve the right to cut off anyone from drinking and throwing axes.
- Alcohol is to be kept in a specific area, outside of the throwing lanes.
- Safety procedures regarding axe throwing will be clearly posted, demonstrated, and are expected to be adhered to. If patrons do not follow the posted lane rules they may forfeit their right to throw without refund.
+ Do you provide all the equipment?
Yes! We provide a World Axe Throwing League sanctioned axe suitable for all throwing abilities. Targets are made of East Coast Poplar to meet the World Axe Throwing league regulations. More info can be found at www.worldaxethrowingleague.com
+ Are kids allowed to throw?
YES! We allow minors (10 to 18 years of age) to participate! Each group must be accompanied by an adult and their booking must end by 8PM. Minors must leave the premises by 8PM.

+ Is it safe?
Axe Throwing is internationally recognized as a safe sport. Our coaches provide training and are available to you throughout your booking. We ensure that they are strict in making sure that everyone is throwing axes in a safe manner. We have a zero tolerance policy for excessive drinking. All lane rules must be followed. Our Throwing Coaches reserve the right to discontinue axe throwing privileges to anyone at any time for any reason, if they deem necessary, without refund.
+ Can I bring my own axe?
Regular booking participants must use the axes provided by Woodchucks Axe Throwing. During League play, approved WATL regulation axes can be used by league members.
